　　甲骨文“官”字从“宀”（mián）、从“ ”（duī）。“宀”表示房屋，“ ”在甲骨文、金文中多读作“师”，表示“军队、师旅”。许慎《说文解字》“官”字下也解释道“犹众也，此与‘师’同意”。所以“官”字字形表示“师众、众人在屋中”的意思，本义为官署。

　　The oracle bone script for the Chinese character “官”（guān） consists of two elements：“宀”（mián），meaning “house，” and “ ”（duī）， often pronounced as “shī”（师）， which signifies “army” or “troops.” Xu Shen， in his Shuowen Jiezi（Origin of Chinese Characters）， explains that “” represents “a group of people，” aligning with “师”（shī）. Together， these components suggest “a group of people inside a house，” originally referring to a government office.　（文字翻译 童林）
