　　甲骨文“立”由表示正面站立之人的“大”和表示地面的横线组成，意为一人站在地面上，引申为竖立、建立、立即。

　　The oracle bone script form of the Chinese character “立” (lì) is composed of “大”, representing a person standing upright from the front, and a horizontal line symbolizing the ground. It means a person standing on the ground and is later extensively meant “to stand” “to establish” or “immediately”. （文字翻译 童林）
